Description

The Tallac Lodge luxury vacation rental is a luxury home that is very unique because it backs up to U.S. Forest Land while still only being only 1/8 mile from Lake Tahoe and on of the few dog friendly beaches in north Tahoe (Patton Beach). Guests can easily walk to the lake, multiple restaurants including Old Post Office Coffee Shop, CB's Pizza, Watermans Landing, and Gar Woods Bar & Grill.

*For summer guests, this home books from Sat-Sat in July and early August.

The 6 bedroom, 6.5 bath house is designed and outfitted differently so it is not your typical "rental" property. Five bedrooms are suites, with queen or king beds fitted with imported Italian linens made of high thread-count Egyptian cotton, and en-suite bathrooms. These bedrooms are nicely spaced apart for comfort and privacy, with one suite on the main floor, two suites on the second floor, a large suite with a separate living room and private balcony on the third floor, and a large suite with a peek lake views in an apartment-like setting over the garage (accessible from the interior of the house).  All of the suites have flat-screen, high definition televisions. The remaining bedroom on the first floor has two twin beds, with close and easy access to a large bathroom with giant stall shower that also serves as the ground floor guest bath.

Main Level: The main level is handicapped accessible to the front deck by using a ramp stored in the garage. The front deck contains the propane BBQ (summer only) and ping pong table (summer only).

On this main level there is a gourmet kitchen, outfitted with stainless steel appliances including a 5-burner range with twin ovens, one electric wall oven and one wall-mounted microwave, flat screen tv, and a giant granite-topped center island enables breakfasts and dinner buffets to be served for the entire crowd, along with a dining table that seats 12.

There is a full bath between the kitchen and living room that is wheelchair accessible.  Assist bars are available for the toilet that can be fitted upon request.

The living room features 30 foot cathedral ceilings, rock fireplace, large sectional micro-suede sofa, a formal dining table that doubles as a gaming table that seats 6, a stereo system (bring your own device adapter to plug into the receiver to listen to your own music!) and a 50' flat screen TV with surround sound.   A large redwood deck is just off the living room, 8 person hot tub, and patio furniture.

Further down the hallway from the living room is a a bedroom with 2 twin beds, and a bedroom with a queen bed with flat screen tv with direct access to a full bath with a lockable door that turns the queen bedroom into a full private suite.

Second Level: Upstairs is the gabled-ceiling game room, with two couches, a giant LED HDTV and Blu-Ray player and foosball table. Just off the game/media room is a half-bath and laundry with washer and dryer.  Down the hall are two bedroom suites with queen beds, each with their own tub and shower.

Third Level: A master suite with hardwood floors, separate sitting area, Flat Screen TV and Blu-Ray DVD player, King Bed, Japanese soaking tub, walk in slate shower, and great views of the forest from the bathroom and private balcony.

Bedroom Above Attached Garage: This suite is accessed either by the main house near the kitchen or through the garage. The spacious bedroom includes an attached bath, TV, and some lake views from the bedroom windows.

*For larger groups including family reunions, corporate retreats, and weddings, this luxury rental is 100 yards from the Dale Lake View Vacation Rental.

Love this place! Ample parking, lots of firewood in the garage for us to stay warm, and the house was stocked with everything from board games to laundry detergent.

My family and I stayed here in September of 2016 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect - right smack in the middle of town and there was a ton of space. There is a hiking trail that you can hop on right in the backyard which was convenient. Highly recommend!

The Tahoe luxury home was even better than expected. Having six bedrooms, five with their own bathrooms, plus an additional handicap equipped bathroom was ideal for our group. The kitchen is spacious with a large table, great appliances, and plenty of dishes and glassware. The hot tub was wonderful and the fenced yard and open space near the home was nice for the dogs. The house was clean, the beds comfortable and we hated to leave. A perfect location for getting together with friends and family.

The neighborhood was very quiet. Had no issue. The house was exactly what the description said. It had 6 huge bedrooms with most rooms having a bathroom connected. THe house was very big and it was awesome that each room had a tv, including the kitchen!

The bathroom downstairs prepared for the handicapped was perfect for my 92-years old mother-in-law. But, the cleaning somehow could be better. The drawers, the bedroom floors could be better taken care of. The kitchen is gullo equipped

This house was perfect for my family to be together to celebrate our daughters wedding. It was so spacious and comfortable. Everyone had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the beautiful North Lake Tahoe neighborhood. Only a short walk to the wedding sight it was perfect for wedding day pictures, family dinners, and a place that we made wonderful lifelong memories. The homes handicapped bathroom was so helpful for elderly parents. Well stocked kitchen with cooking supplies. I could have used a few more serving bowls but, we managed ok with what was provided. I would definately rent this home again.

This is a beautiful cabin. Very spacious and perfect for a family with children. Wonderful outside space with fenced in back yard and decks. Our family had a great time. The people at agate Bay Realty are the most accommodating, helpful people I have ever worked with.

Great place for a family getaway

This was our family's first time together in Tahoe and we loved our stay at Tallac lodge. There was plenty of space for the adults, kids and even a couple of dogs. The dining table is huge and the game room was a fun place for the kids to hang out in. Garwoods is a walk across the street with beautiful lake views when we didn't feel like eating in. We would recommend this place to anyone who just wants to getaway for some relaxation.

I like this house because its location is great: close to North Star Ski Resort Village (about 10 min drive), Safeway (3 miles away), 7-11 (a min away). There are restaurants close by and it's close to the lake as well. The house has 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms...good for our big groups with kids. It's also clean and well maintained in general, except that the detergent holder cover of the dishwasher is broken. Beds are comfy and clean but I'd like to see more extra blankets and pillows which are usually available in most other vacation houses. In Tallac, there is not any extra blankets and pillows. However, i do like it that there are hair dryers and lots of hangers in each bedroom. I also wanna make a special note that there is a big wheelchair accessible bathroom with adaptive equipment (shower seat, ramp to get into the shower stall, toilet grab rails) available on the ground floor. I'm a therapist myself and happy to see such accommodation available.I like it the best that the living room is very spacious and there is a separate play room for kids to stay. In fact, if you have an aero bed, it can serve another bedroom (if you don't mind that there is no door). Overall, I like this house and will definitely come back to stay in it.

Winter Retreat for Education Fellowship Cohort

The Tallac Lodge was the perfect location for a winter retreat for my Education Pioneers analyst Fellowship cohort. The lodge was accurately described and pictured. Supermarkets were nearby, and the lodge was a short drive (15 minutes) to either North Star or Squaw Valley ski resorts. The kitchen was well-stocked, which proved to be very useful for the few chefs in the house. Near-endless amounts of firewood was provided, and the hot tub was positioned in a semi-private portion of the woods located at the side/rear of the house. All beds were outfitted with clean bedsheets and towels were provided in each bathroom. The garage fit only one car, but there was enough parking on the property for an additional 4 cars. The garage also had a propane BBQ, bicycles, and a kayak.

We loved staying at Tallac Lodge. The forest was our backyard. The house was beautifully appointed. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was gourmet and a pleasure to use. The location was great. We could not have wished for anything more perfect. The only negative was the atttitude of the realty company. When we called them to tell them that the hot tub had murky water, they were not interested in addressing this unless we paid for a visit by the hottub company. In addition, when we arrived one hour earlier than check in with a shuttle to the realty office we had to convince them to let the shuttle drop us at the house to wait for the cleaning company to finish. I would not hesitate to rent this house but I would not count on the friendliest response from the realty company for any problems you might encounter.
