This place is amazing! The location is spectacular and the views from the entire property make you never want to leave. The heater on the porch was a nice touch as the weekend was a little chilly. Additionally the house itself has everything you could need--the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. We couldn't have dreamed of a better place.

“The location is fantastic and views are gorgeous! The Netflix access was a great bonus. Unfortunately, there were ongoing issues with the heat and oven during our stay, which was a little frustrating. All in all, I would recommend this rental as long as these issues are remedied.”
Manager response on 2019-01-16 - Response from Agate Bay Realty
The handyman determined everything was functioning properly and gave the guest instructions to correct their error in use. We apologize if the instructions were not clear and it reoccurred. No other guests before or since have had any issue with the heat or oven.

Wake up each morning to amazing views of Lake Tahoe. The cabin takes you back in time and the decor is charming but you still have all the modern amenities ex: dishwasher. The beds were comfortable and the linens/down comforters stellar. Easily accessible to biking and walking trails. My family rented kayaks a few miles away and bicycles in Tahoe City.

Fantastic house with amazing views. We had a toddler and a baby with us, it was a fantastic house to enjoy the lake but a couple of hazards for little ones on the move. We managed around this though and still had a fantastic holiday. Thanks!!

This is the perfect Tahoe getaway! Amazing views -- the pictures don't do it justice. Warm, cozy and clean. We came here with our family of five (2 parents + 3 kids), plus a family of 2 (1 parent + 1 kid) and had just the right amount of room. The living area is large, with windows overlooking the lake. The dining area has the best views in the house. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner, and the kitchen was well-stocked // had everything we needed. Highly recommend this home and we hope to come back soon!

If you are after the quintessential Old Tahoe experience, you need go no further than this amazing place. Quaint, rustic, and fun, this is Tahoe at its best. A Bay Area native, I spent a lot of time in Tahoe growing up. Now all grown up with a family and transplanted to Washington State, I yearn to return to my roots, and Tahoe in particular, as often as I can. This is the place...awesome memories have been created...I will be nostalgic for this visit for a long time! Thank you to our wonderful hosts! I highly recommend The Fraser Cabin

The house is beautiful and charming, it has a lot of character. Nothing fancy but you can tell that everything in this house has a story to tell which we loved so much because this is our first time in lake tahoe and we feel so much at home. we were family of 8 and we didn't feel crowded. We just actually stayed in the cabin on our first day. We cleared the block of ice at the back so we were able to sled it was fun. The heater is also good plus the fireplace works good as well. the location was great too, we drove to Safeway to get our grocery and we didn't eat out at all we just cook our entire meal for the whole time we stayed there, the kitchen was very well-equipped. so that actually saved us a lot, dining out for family of 8 can be very expensive. We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin and we wish to go back in different season so we can enjoy the private lake access this time.

We celebrated my eldest son's 4th birthday at the Fraser cabin...what a wonderful, cozy, inviting cabin. The views were breath taking and we were able to enjoy all the surroundings from the little bit of snow, fire pit and the lake. With everything in such close proximity to the cabin we found no need to leave, but local businesses were not too far if we needed anything. No one wanted to leave when our weekend ended, and we already started planning our next trip up to this cabin.

This is a cute property, in decent condition overall, but could use a good cleaning. Kitchen was well stocked (dishes/tools, appliances, even some spices), but the oven did not work. Outdoor amenities included gas grill, heaters, fire pit, and of course beach! Unfortunately, there was construction next door (new home build), so it got loud early in the mornings (crews started work before 7:00am - including excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy power equipment). That was a bummer. The property owners did not disclose this prior to making a reservation, and I was notified of the situation by prop mgt only 3 days before arriving. Fortunately, Cynthia with agate Bay Realty did a great job handling negotiations for a reduced rate due to the inconvenience.
Manager response on 2015-07-03 - Response from Meredith Lodging LLC
Thank you for your review. Yes neither the owner nor Agate Bay Realty knew about the neighbors construction until 3 days prior to your stay until we checked on the house. We try to insure no surprises at our houses including construction or road work but sometimes we are not notified.

Our vacation was very pleasant. We loved! the access to the beta hand bike path. The house itself was charming and fit 9 people well. The neighbor was friendly and helpful. We paddled boarded right from the beach over to sugar point! Beautiful! I would suggest, if you on cooking, to bring some basics like pepper, salt, garlic and olive oil. Other than that, nothing. You will have a great vacation! I would stay here again.

This was definitely a rustic cabin. Four small bedrooms upstairs with one tiny bath for all. Frying pans and pots need to be replaced and we had no washcloths. The light on the stairway was very dim, and stairwell steep. The view and setting were great, but would not stay there again.
Manager response on 2012-09-30 - Response from Agate Bay Realty
Thank you for the information about the cookware and wash clothes; next time please let us know about any deficiencies during your stay so we can remedy them immediately because we'd like you to be completely satisfied. The stairway bulb is a cfl so it does take a moment to reach full brightness. Please note that there are two full bathrooms at this home, one on each floor.

This was one of the best cabins I have rented with my family. The space is perfect; kid-friendly, well stocked, and completely usable. There are beautiful views of the lake from the big back windows. The lot runs down the hill with direct lake access and a wonderful outdoor fire pit for the kids to roast marshmallows. Inside, you feel like you are borrowing a cabin from a good friend - it is completely stocked and the owners share everything with you. It feels much more personable than the usual rental cabin. The beds are very comfortable and everything supplied was top notch. Just a few small details keeping from being a 5 star. many of the light bulbs were burnt out including the stair light which made our nighttime arrival challenging - had to scrounge to get the lighting we needed - and the downstairs DVD doesn't work which makes it difficult to get some adult time from the kids. Check-in/out was hassle free.

The cabin more than exceeded our expectations. It was private, casual, clean and had everything that we needed. There were plenty of beds, which were very comfortable. And the kids loved all the games, toys and the TV/DVD player in one of the rooms. It was right on the water with beautiful views of the lake. We had a fabulous time and would definitely stay there again!
