Fabulous Stay

What a gem! Don't let the description of the bathroom deter you unless you are a total bathroom and kitchen snob. It's not moldy or unclean, it's just a small older box shower...so what! With that view and pier you'll never notice. We got lucky and the construction was on pause our entire stay so can't comment there, but it is building construction 20 feet away, so if you're not an early riser it may deter you. Love this place and will be back!
Manager response on 2017-08-24 - Response from Agate Bay Realty
We glad you enjoyed your stay. We wanted to clarify for future guests that we mentioned the construction prior your booking and that the exterior construction next door should end in October 2017.

Everything was perfect at the Cabin on Lake Tahoe. The place was very comfortable and clean. Parking and accessibility was great. The closeness to the lake was excellent. We had a beautiful view from the large deck. Full kitchen. Ate dinner outside on the deck every night. Great place. It is a must to go back to.

Absolutely Perfect!

Absolutely perfect, rustic, lakeside Tahoe cabin! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I spent a week at this wonderful Tahoe cabin after a 2 day beginning excursion at Yosemite, and we have to say that after the majesty we witnessed in Yosemite, this wonderful cabin didn't let us down, placing us Lakeside to the beautiful caribbean like waters of Tahoe. Situated right on those beautiful clear waters of Lake Tahoe, it provided us with exactly what we were looking for. The quintessential Tahoe experience. Some have complained about the bathroom, but we found it functional and just fine for the two of our needs. Couples cove is a lakeside Tahoe Cabin, it is not luxurious. If you are looking for luxury accommodations then do not rent this cabin and do not complain if you do! It is perfectly cozy with comfortable leather sofas, a picnic style table situated right in front of a bay window looking out through the trees over Lake Tahoe, and a very comfortable queen bed in the only bedroom. We can't say enough about Couple's Cove, and Agate bay was a pleasure to deal with. Key is in a lockbox at the home, instructions for the bear prevention system are easy to follow, and checkout is simple and easy. There isn't much around Tahoma as far as restaurants except West shore pizza, which is affordable and tasty, but you aren't far from plenty of options. Probably steer clear of the Tahoma market unless you have money to burn. They will financially rape you with 500% markups on their provisions. A short drive north takes you to Tahoe city where you will find a grocery store with much better prices, and plenty of restaurants to choose from. We recommend Rosie's Cafe for fantastic dinners with reasonable prices, and if you are looking for an affordable breakfast before venturing out on your daily excursions around Lake Tahoe, Syd's Bagelry in Tahoe City is a great place to grab and go, or sit and enjoy. If you like good Barbeque, Sonny's Bbq Shack Bar and Grille to the south has fantastic pulled pork, and TVs to catch the game. Couple's Cove is a perfect place to relax by Tahoe, and a great jumping off point for everything Tahoe, from Emerald Bay just a short drive south, to Tahoe City, King's Beach, and Incline village to the North. You can even be in Virginia City, NV within an hour and a half from Couple's Cove. For it's quaintness and coziness, situation right upon Lake Tahoe, access to all things Tahoe, and the wonderfully easy check in and out process with Agate Bay, we give Couples Cove 5 stars easy! Loved it, and we intend to return!

Cozy and Rustic

We could not get enough of the view from this cozy rustic home right on the water. The pictures don't do it justice as to how close this place is to the water. We brought our kayaks and we had no problem with carrying our kayaks to the water. The views from living room and bedroom are breathtaking. The cabin is very rustic. Which worked very well for us. The shower could use an upgrade is the only thing that some people may be turned off by. If you are looking for a fancy home this isn't your type of home. If you want a spectacular view with home right on the water then this is your place. We will be coming back.

Love the Old Tahoe

The "Couples Cove" cottage was charming and more spacious than we expected. It has a look and style of Old Tahoe, leather overstuffed couches, a large fish mounted over the mantel, lots of Native American patterns and decorative ironwork. The cottage really is right on the lake and the view from the deck is gorgeous. It's a perfect spot for a summer lake vacation. We arrived in a Sept. drizzle and the next two days were sunny but chilly. But we can attest the heating system works well and it kept us cozy. I would love to come back again in warmer weather.

Rustic cabin with beautiful lakefront view, but terrible bathroom

The cabin is on the west side of the lake very close to Chambers landing. This rustic cabin is directly on the lake with its own dock. A beautiful view well worth the price, but it does have its shortcomings. We would have given it the full five stars if the bathroom had been bearable. We would stay there again if the bathroom was gutted and completely redone.
